Learn how to add a photo to an author in WordPress – Do you wish to update WordPress to include an author’s photo?
Most WordPress themes display the author’s gravatar as their profile photo by default. However, writers may prefer to use a different gravatar instead.
We’ll demonstrate how to upload an author’s picture to WordPress in this post.
When Should an Author’s Photo Be Added to WordPress?
You might want to include an author bio box in WordPress articles if you manage a multi-author WordPress website. These author bio boxes often include a profile picture, a short bio, and a link to the author’s website or social networking pages.
Most WordPress themes set the author’s gravatar as their author picture by default. But sometimes you may wish to use a different picture as the author’s photo.
Even the kind of images you wish to display in your author bio boxes may be governed by regulations you have as the owner of a WordPress website. For instance, maybe you mandate that your writers utilize a formal headshot.
If the author’s gravatar doesn’t meet your needs, you may want to change their profile and ask for a picture that works better on your WordPress site.
In light of this, let’s examine the process for adding an author’s picture to WordPress.
Learn How to Add an Author’s Photo to WordPress.
The PublishPress Authors plugin is the simplest method to add an author picture to WordPress. This plugin lets writers change their own profile and author picture by adding a new “Author Profile” section to their WordPress dashboard.
It also lets website administrators change the author’s profile, including adding a picture.
Installing and turning on the PublishPress Authors plugin is the first step.
Go to Authors » Settings after activation. Go ahead and choose the “Display” tab from there.
When you’ve finished, choose a layout with an author picture by using the ‘Layouts’ menu.
Let’s examine your choices.
“Boxed” is the default layout. This includes the author’s bio and the author’s picture in a box with the author’s information.
Similar to the boxed style, the “centered” layout centers the author’s bio box with all of the author’s information.
Both the “Inline with avatar” and the “Simple List” layouts provide a place for the author’s picture. Here is an example of the Simple List design.
Just be aware that there isn’t enough for a bio in those two styles. Even if the author has included a biography, your website won’t display it.
Once you’ve selected your layout, click “Save Changes.” The author’s photos can now be seen on your website through the WordPress posts and pages you’ve made.
Anyone who has created an author account on your website may now add a picture using the “Author Profile” settings in their WordPress dashboard.
How to Update a WordPress Author’s Photo
Any of the individual author photographs that appear on your website may be changed using PublishPress Authors, which you can utilize as an admin. This is helpful if an author chooses a picture that doesn’t go well with your website.
Simply go to Authors » Authors to update an author’s picture.
A list of all the authors who have signed up with your WordPress blog will now be visible to you.
You may choose an author by clicking on their “Edit Author Profile” link from here.
Then just choose the “Image” option.
PublishPress defaults to looking for a gravatar associated with the author’s email address. Selecting the ‘Custom picture’ option choice will allow you to use a different author photo.
After doing so, choose the image by clicking the button. You may now upload a new picture or choose any image from your WordPress media library.
Simply choose “Update” from the menu after that.
This updated picture will now be used as the author’s photo on your website.
